Local farmers are being encouraged to form organisations and band together in order to strengthen their practices and, by extension, the agricultural industry.

Gov’t Provides Over $38m to Assist Livestock, Dairy and Bee Farmers Affected by Hurricane Beryl

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining is providing more than $38 million to assist livestock, dairy and bee farmers in their recovery from the impact of Hurricane Beryl.

Urban Harvest Programme to Be Rolled Out Next Month

The Urban Harvest Programme, which aims to encourage more Jamaicans to grow their own food, will be rolled out next month.

Under the programme, 3,000 backyard garden kits and vertical hydroponic farms will be distributed, especially across urban centres.
