Agriculture Ministry embarks on development plan for bee industry

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries will embark on developing a plan for the bee industry in order to ensure its sustainability.
Among the areas it will address are certification of beekeepers, the national digital logging of apiaries, theft experienced by bee farmers and the expansion of the value chain.

Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Floyd Green, says there will be sufficient supply of tubers and meat for the Christmas period.

Cabinet Approves US$25-Million MASP For Inclusion In Investment Programme

Cabinet has given approval for the US$25-million Modernisation of the Agriculture Sector Programme (MASP) to be included in the Public Sector Investment Programme.

The initiative is a five-year project that will be executed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and financed by a US$25-million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
