Gov’t begins removal exercise of all brands of corned beef imported from Brazil

Following the March 20 temporary ban on corned beef by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the National Food Safety Recall Committee held an urgent meeting on March 21, as stipulated by the National Food Safety Policy. No Evidence of Lead in Curry Samples

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl
Samuda said he is pleased at reports that no evidence of lead has been
found in samples of powdered curry sold locally.
The National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA) collected 26
samples from 17 companies following a recall of the products by the United
States of America on December 12.
