Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda.

Above Body

 22 Mar 2017

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl
Samuda said he is pleased at reports that no evidence of lead has been
found in samples of powdered curry sold locally.
The National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA) collected 26
samples from 17 companies following a recall of the products by the United
States of America on December 12.
The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) advised Minister Samuda that the
samples, which were tested in January and February, were found to be
acceptable and without evidence of contamination.
The BSJ has formally advised the companies of the results.
