The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has allocated $200 million towards the National Irish Potato and Onion Programme for the 2022-2023 financial year. Speaking at the launch of the programme in Guy’s Hill, St. Catherine, last Wednesday, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Pearnel Charles Jr, commended the onion farmers in Clarendon and St. Thomas for showing the best yields in onion production.
