Jamaica resumes shipment of mangoes to the UK

Jamaica has resumed shipment of mangoes to the United Kingdom with the second shipment of some 320 boxes of St. Julian and 172 boxes of East Indian mangoes, totalling 4,710 kilogrammes, from the Plant Quarantine/Produce Inspection Export Complex at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on April 22.

KINGSTON, April 22 (JIS):

Approximately 4,710 kilograms of mangoes were shipped to the United Kingdom (UK) from the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Thursday (April 22).

The mangoes were exported by local fresh food producers Native Nature, Dussard Trading, Tropical Foods, Carita Jamaica Limited and Wah Gwaan Foods (Yam Man) Jamaica Limited.

The shipment, comprising 320 boxes of Julie and 172 boxes of East Indian mangoes, is the second to the UK this month, following a seven-year absence from the market.
