The National Investment Policy (NIP), which aims to position Jamaica as a major player in the global investment community whilst driving economic growth through sustainable development, was tabled in the Houses of Parliament, Tuesday, July 28, by Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Leslie Campbell.

Gov’t aims to increase manufacturing sector’s output by 3% annually

The Government is aiming to increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to gross domestic product to $81 billion over the next five years, up from $66 billion in 2018.

A total of $77.3 million has so far been spent by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries under the Promoting Community-based Climate Resilience in the Fisheries Sector Project to include procurement of a much-needed high speed vessel and three motor vehicles for enforcement activities in the fisheries sector.
