Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Hon. Floyd Green (seventh right), shares a moment with Clarendon farmers who have benefited from a donation of supplies from Jamaica Bauxite Mining Limited (JBML). Occasion was the handover of the items at the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) parish office in Clarendon on Tuesday (October 29). Several Clarendon farmers have benefited from $1.5 million worth of agricultural inputs from the Jamaica Bauxite Mining Limited (JBML).

The items, which include farm tools, protective gear, productivity enhancers, insecticides, pesticides and spraying tools, were handed over by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Hon. Floyd Green, at the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) parish office in Clarendon on Tuesday (October 28).

JaSPICE Project Addressing Local Production Issues

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food for Progress Jamaica Spices (JaSPICE) Project is making significant strides in addressing critical issues that will drive local production of ginger, turmeric and pimento.

The project, being implemented over the next five years, is geared towards revitalising the spice sector in Jamaica to meet existing export and domestic demands.
