The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining has been charged with the responsibility of driving the integration of the production of primary agricultural produce along all the stages of the supply chain through to value added and facilitating full commercialization of outputs of the agriculture, manufacturing, and service sectors.

Agricultural industry stakeholders are highlighting the sector’s revolutionary transformation being spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining and its portfolio agencies, by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to propel agri-business into the future.

Export Platform under JSWIFT 90 Per Cent Complete

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining is collaborating with Jamaica Customs to complete the export component of the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JWIFT) for implementation in the upcoming fiscal year.

Farmers across the country are being advised to be on high alert for an increase in the beet armyworm population.

Spodoptera exigua, more commonly known as the beet armyworm, is a destructive pest of onion and scallion in Jamaica.
